Mobility

A coastal road traces the island’s perimeter, with scenic trails leading up to Montagna Grande, paths winding down to the sea, and curves that follow the natural landscape. Whether on foot, by bike, car or boat, every mode of transport offers a different way to explore — and honour — the island.

By air

The island is served by Pantelleria Airport (PNL). Conveniently located in the heart of the island, the airport is easily accessible by public transport, rental vehicle or private car, and offers ample parking. It ensures full accessibility for all passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility, providing dedicated assistance throughout check-in, security, boarding, the flight itself and arrival — all at no extra cost.

Flight Connections

Year-round direct flights operate from Trapani, Palermo, and Catania. From May to October, services expand to include direct connections from Bologna, Verona, Bergamo, Venice, Milan, Rome, and major European cities.

By sea

The main sea gateway to the island is Pantelleria port, served daily by ferries from Trapani operated by Siremar and Traghetti delle Isole - and by hydrofoils from June to September via Liberty Lines, linking Sicily to the island. The secondary maritime access point is Scauri port.

Car and scooter rental

Once on the island, local rental services offer cars, bicycles, and scooters. Services are available at the airport and at various points across the island. We recommend compact, maneuverable vehicles suitable for the unpaved routes you'll encounter.
