The Khamma Military Cemetery, located inland on the island of Pantelleria, stands as a historical testament to World War II. Approximately thirty soldiers, presumably Italian or foreign, who fell during the conflict rest here. The site, surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation, is marked by crosses, small headstones, and a recently constructed altar. Although the area is privately owned and not easily accessible, it remains a place of remembrance and reflection. In recent years, efforts have been made to restore the cemetery’s dignity, recognizing its historical and cultural significance for the island of Pantelleria.
